Ben’s passion is to build close personal and professional relationships with his clients and utilise this relationship combined with his skills and experience to provide the highest level of service and help his clients to succeed.

Starting his accounting career in 2000 with a prominent Central Coast based Chartered Accounting firm, Ben progressed through the ranks, departing the firm as an Associate in 2009. During this time, Ben’s service – orientated focus allowed him to build strong relationships with his small business clients across a range of industries, resulting in a high level of residual goodwill which still exists today.

Following an extended period of travel abroad with his wife Ash, Ben returned to Sydney to take up a position of Manager with a highly regarded boutique midtier Chartered Accounting firm. This position provided Ben with exposure to new clients, ideas and know – how, integral in rounding out his skill set and positioning him for his return to the Central Coast and formation of HD Accounting & Business Consultants.

Ben completed his Bachelor of Commerce in 2004 through the University of Newcastle and attained his Chartered Accountant qualification in 2009.

A keen fan of all sports and a surfer, Ben’s love of the ocean connected him with the not – for – profit organisation Take 3 Ltd. Take 3 do amazing work educating the community of the damage caused by rubbish and trash entering the ocean environment – HD is proud to be associated with Take 3.

Matt Drummond

Matt Drummond

Director / Chartered Accountant

Matt possesses a passion for helping businesses achieve the best possible results. He achieves this by developing strong relationships with his clients which enables him to develop an intricate understanding of their business. Matt specialises in helping businesses grow, build assets and plan for the future.

Matt has provided specialist tax and consultancy advice for small to medium sized business, self managed super and individual clients to a variety of industries for over 14 years. In 2000, he commenced his career at a Chartered Accounting firm and has worked for a prominent Central Coast Chartered Accounting practice for over 10 years.

Matt is a high achiever. Graduating from the University of Newcastle in 2002 with the highest honour of ‘best graduating accounting student’. In 2007, he attained the qualification of Chartered Accountant by completing his ‘Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting’, obtaining multiple top 5% placing’s along the way.

In 2008, Matt left the Central Coast to explore the world with his wife Tara. He settled in London for 2 years and gained financial analysis experience with ‘The Walt Disney Company’. This corporate experience provided the core skills many businesses need to find in an outsourced CFO. On returning to Australia, Matt went back to his passion of public practice.

Away from HD Matt is a lover of all sports, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.
